PMU
PMU is France's historic horse-racing pool betting operator, also licensed for sports and poker. It does not operate in the markets we cover.
Licensed in France; not in the markets we cover
This brand is not licensed in the markets we cover (or only in part of them), so it has no Wayfinder Score. If you play there, you do not get the protections a local licence brings: limits, self-exclusion and a regulator to complain to.

A French institution
Pari Mutuel Urbain has organised betting on French horse racing since 1930. It is owned by the racing associations France Galop and Le Trot, and its profits fund the sport. Online it is licensed by the ANJ for racing, sports betting and poker; offline it sells bets through thousands of cafés and tobacconists.
Racing bets are pari-mutuel: all stakes go into a pool and the payout depends on how many winners share it, not on fixed odds.
Availability
PMU's online service is for residents of France. It holds no licence in the markets we cover (US, UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Portugal, South Africa and Ontario), and registration requires French identity and bank details. Much of the English-language search interest comes from racing fans looking for French results and Quinté+ dividends.
British and Irish punters can bet into French pools through operators that have commingling agreements, rather than through PMU itself.
Worth knowing
If you do live in France, PMU remains the reference for racing, with the deepest pools and full video coverage. Its sports betting and poker are smaller than the specialists'. France caps the average return to players on sports betting, so prices are a little lower than on international sites.
We do not score operators outside our markets.
