Licence and background
Matchbook has run since 2004 and is one of the few betting exchanges to have survived alongside Betfair. It is licensed by the Gambling Commission and open to customers in a limited list of countries.
UK protections apply, including GAMSTOP.
What you get
You back or lay an outcome at a price offered by another customer, and the site takes a small commission. Prices on the main football leagues, racing and American sports are often better than a bookmaker's. A casino section sits alongside the exchange.
On smaller events there may be little money available to match your bet.
Our take
A good second exchange for price-sensitive bettors, with low commission its main selling point. Liquidity is well below Betfair's, so it works best on big markets.
