Licence and background

Ladbrokes has been taking bets since 1886 and is today one of the main retail and online brands of Entain, the FTSE-listed group that also owns Coral and bwin. In Great Britain it operates under a UK Gambling Commission licence; in Ireland it holds a local bookmaker's licence and runs a shop estate alongside the website.

That means the usual UK protections apply: identity checks before you can withdraw, GAMSTOP self-exclusion and the stake limits on online slots introduced in 2025.

What you get

The sportsbook is strongest on football and horse racing, with early prices, best-odds-guaranteed windows on UK and Irish racing and a familiar bet builder. The casino and bingo tabs share one wallet with the sportsbook. Customers can also deposit and withdraw cash in shops through the Grid card.

Odds are mid-market on the big football leagues. The real differences from rivals are in racing concessions and in-shop services.

Our take

A dependable all-rounder for British and Irish punters, particularly racing fans and anyone who still likes a shop. The interface is busy and promotions for existing customers are thinner than they were before the 2026 tax rise. Ladbrokes is not available in the US, Spain, Germany or Ontario under that name.
