Licence and background
GGPoker started in Asia in 2017 and overtook the long-time market leader in player numbers within a few years. Its parent company bought the World Series of Poker brand in 2024. The room holds a UK Gambling Commission licence and local licences in Germany and Ontario, among other markets.
In Ontario and Germany players are ring-fenced from the international pool or subject to national table rules.
What you get
The software has features found nowhere else: built-in statistics, staking for tournaments and all-in insurance. The tournament schedule is the largest in online poker, with WSOP events as the centrepiece. Third-party tracking tools are banned.
Rake is on the high side, and the standard of play is strong.
Our take
The first choice for tournament players who want the biggest fields and the most modern client. Casual players should start at the lowest stakes. If you prefer a softer room, 888poker is the gentler option in the UK.
