Licence and background

DraftKings began as a daily fantasy sports company in 2012 and moved into sports betting when the US Supreme Court struck down the federal ban in 2018. It is licensed separately in each state where it operates and in Ontario. You must be physically inside a legal state to bet; the app checks your location.

Online casino is available in far fewer states than the sportsbook, and age limits are 21 in most of them.

What you get

The sportsbook is deep on US sports, with same-game parlays, extensive player props and live betting on almost every NFL, NBA, MLB and NHL game. Daily fantasy contests run in most states, including some without legal sports betting. The casino adds exclusive in-house games in the states that allow it.

Promotions are frequent but usually paid as bonus bets that cannot be withdrawn.

Our take

A top-tier US app for props and parlays, with a smooth interface and quick payouts by US standards. Parlay-heavy promotions push players towards higher-margin bets, so price-check singles elsewhere. Not available in the UK or Europe.
