Chumba Casino
Chumba Casino is a US sweepstakes casino that uses virtual coins in place of cash stakes. How the model works and where it is restricted.
US sweepstakes model, not a gambling licence
This brand is not licensed in the markets we cover (or only in part of them), so it has no Wayfinder Score. If you play there, you do not get the protections a local licence brings: limits, self-exclusion and a regulator to complain to.

How it works
Chumba Casino is not a licensed online casino. Players buy Gold Coins, which have no cash value and are used for play, and receive Sweeps Coins as a free bonus. Sweeps Coins won in games can be redeemed for cash prizes. That promotional sweepstakes structure is what lets VGW operate in much of the US without a gaming licence.
The games are slots and table games built by VGW itself.
Where it stands
Chumba holds no gambling licence in the markets we cover (US, UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Portugal, South Africa and Ontario). A growing number of US states have banned or restricted sweepstakes casinos, and the list of excluded states keeps changing. It is not open to residents of the UK or Europe.
Identity checks are carried out before any prize is redeemed.
What to know
The play feels the same as a slot site, and money spent on coins can be lost just as quickly. What is missing is the framework a licensed casino must provide: state-mandated limits, self-exclusion schemes and a gaming regulator to complain to. Check your state's position before buying coins.
We do not score sweepstakes sites.
