BOTB
BOTB runs online competitions to win cars, cash and lifestyle prizes. How the games work, what they cost and how they are regulated.
UK prize competition operator, not a gambling licence
This brand is not licensed in the markets we cover (or only in part of them), so it has no Wayfinder Score. If you play there, you do not get the protections a local licence brings: limits, self-exclusion and a regulator to complain to.

How it works
BOTB began in 1999 with supercars displayed in British airports and tickets sold to passing travellers. It now runs online. In its best-known game, Spot the Ball, entrants judge where the ball was in a photograph, and the closest to a panel's decision wins the car.
The company also runs instant-win games and prize draws with a free entry route.
How it is regulated
Because the main game involves skill and the draws offer free entry, these are prize competitions and not lotteries, so no Gambling Commission licence is required. BOTB holds no gambling licence in the markets we cover (US, UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Portugal, South Africa and Ontario).
Competitions are open mainly to UK residents aged 18 or over.
What to know
The chance of winning a car is small, and entries add up if you play every week. Treat it as entertainment and check how prizes are delivered if you live outside the UK.
We do not score prize competition operators.
