The brand
BetNacional grew up in Brazil's north-east and built its name on football sponsorships and plain-spoken advertising. In 2025 Flutter Entertainment took control of its parent, NSX. The site operated on a .bet.br address, the domain reserved for companies authorised under Brazil's federal licensing regime.
It offered sports betting, with Brazilian football to the fore, and an online casino, all paid through the Pix instant payment system.
What happened
In late September 2026 the Brazilian government issued a provisional measure banning online betting. Sites on .bet.br addresses went offline from early October and now display a government notice. Flutter has said it has ceased operations in the country.
The measure still has to be voted on by Congress and is being challenged in court, so the position may change.

BetNacional never held a licence in the markets we cover (US, UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Portugal, South Africa and Ontario). Former customers in Brazil should request any balance through the operator's official channels and ignore messages that promise to restore access to the site, which are scams.
