Betika

Betika is one of Kenya's biggest betting brands. It is licensed in East Africa but not in the markets we cover. A short profile.

Licensed in Kenya and other African markets; not in the markets we cover

This brand is not licensed in the markets we cover (or only in part of them), so it has no Wayfinder Score. If you play there, you do not get the protections a local licence brings: limits, self-exclusion and a regulator to complain to.

An East African operator

Betika launched in Kenya in 2016 and built its business on low minimum stakes, weekly jackpots and mobile-money payments. It is a prominent sponsor of Kenyan football and has expanded into other African countries, each under a national licence.

Most English-language searches for the brand come from Kenya, Tanzania and neighbouring countries.

Availability elsewhere

Betika is not licensed in the markets we cover (US, UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Portugal, South Africa and Ontario). In South Africa, the one African market on our list, betting is licensed province by province and Betika is not among the operators we have verified there.

Registration needs a local mobile number and a local payment method, so the sites are in practice limited to residents.

If you are in Kenya

Check that you are on the official site and that the licence details shown match the regulator's records; clone apps and look-alike pages are common. Winnings are subject to withholding tax, which the operator deducts. Set a budget before the weekend jackpots and do not chase losses.

We cover a different set of markets and therefore do not score Betika.
