The brand
BetFlag built its name as an online-first Italian bookmaker and was one of the few operators in Italy to run a betting exchange alongside a fixed-odds sportsbook. Lottomatica Group bought it in 2022. The site operates under an Italian concession and offers sports, casino, poker and card games.
It is aimed squarely at the domestic market, with Italian football at the centre.
Availability
BetFlag registers only residents of Italy with an Italian tax code. It holds no licence in the markets we cover (US, UK, Ireland, Spain, Germany, Portugal, South Africa and Ontario). Most English-language searches come from Italians living abroad.
If you are in the UK, Ireland or Spain and want an exchange, Betfair is the licensed option.
Worth knowing
For players in Italy, BetFlag is a regular licensed operator covered by the national self-exclusion register. Its exchange has far less money in it than Betfair's international pool, so prices on smaller events can be thin.
